One thing I like to tinker with is my Palm organizer. I have had one since
1997, starting with the original 128 kb "pilot". I have upgraded from time to
time, and now I have a Palm IIIxe. I find it to be an indispensable tool as
well as a fun toy.
Below are a few attempt(s) at Palm programming.
yyyy.mm.dd hack
I use the date format that looks like 2001.12.31, because I think it looks cool
and I can sort files easily if I use this format. On the Palm, they chose to
shorten the dates so that sometimes the days and months are expressed as a
single digit (like "01.2.3"). I decided to install a hack to change this
format. Other such hacks do exist, but when I tried to download "date format
hack", the web site was down.
This program serves two purposes:
- I was too impatient to wait for "date format hack" to come back online.
- I wanted to try my hand at programming a HackMaster extension.
So here is my first HackMaster hack, complete with source code. I would like
to thank Roger Chaplin for making his "Sample Hack" available as a starting
point.
