I work in an office with about 500 people. So far I have seen FIVE Halloween costumes. Welcome to Loserville.

@emmarockin You’re never too old to trick or treat. :-)

@Rockhopperbot_ Just so you know… I’m not THAT Rockhopper (but I do know him, and he’s pretty cool).

I have my Halloween costume prepared… but also a trimmed down lighter-weight version for my morning run.

Bought a bunch of Halloween candy that I hate… no leftovers for me!

@OldCrank Wait, you have messages! But first, you need to complete your profile. Little red circles with numbers in them. See who likes you!

Apparently, I fail at modern web design. I’m supposed to get in your way and interrupt you at every turn, leaving you disoriented and angry.

@WNFIV @NewRaleigh When you search Google maps for a particular city, it outlines the city limits with red dots. Sorry to disappoint.

Nice of @JakeShimabukuro to schedule his NC concert on veteran’s day. School holiday means our kids can go, too!

Python 3 is like the metric system. It’s way past time to switch, and we know it. But we’re still stalling…

Big thanks to @davidmarschall for inviting our family to see @DiWuPiano and @ncsymphony tonight!

We’re a good 10 miles from the NC State Fairgrounds, but we can still hear the fireworks! From inside our house!

Today I moved my contacts from Apple iCloud to self-hosted ownCloud. It syncs (vCards) with iPhone and Mac contacts.app.

I find it funny that so many YouTube videos are filmed with the subject sitting on a bed, regardless of the content.

For this week’s Python lesson with D2, I left my phone in another room. Much better!

Lucky! We arrived at the lighthouse just in time for the last tour of the day, last day of the season! pic.twitter.com/Xzkc9ykKgD

Exploring KFFA (by bike and on foot).

@kateleth To learn a new word, you’re supposed to use it several times in the next week. You’ve really challenged me this time!

@Vermelho0106 @Jonnh_85CP Not me! You can’t just put an @ sign in front of the pirate captain’s name!

Found a disposable camera on the beach, took a picture of my girls, then left it where owner might find it. That landed me in the doghouse.

Leave it to me to take a simple analog hobby like acoustic ukulele and mess it all up with wires and USB cables. :-)

Bought a bike rack. Got stuck on assembly step #1. Kit was missing one nut (a large and crucial one). Hardware store trip, now fixed.

@pwbrewer No, but print(“x=%d, y=%d” % (x,y) ) is easier to understand if it’s called a madlib. (BTW, not interested in “corrections” ATM).

via Twitter Web Client in reply to pwbrewer

For today’s Python lesson, it helped if we referred to the string format operator as “madlibs”.

via Twitter for iPhone

@zobskewed BTW, is your avatar pic a violin (or relative), a bass guitar or an electric ukulele?

via Twitter for iPhone

@zobskewed @mkennedy2d It’s just a balancing act of cost vs demand vs quality. And they want to push streamed iTunes radio instead.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to zobskewed

@mkennedy2d @zobskewed I worked on an FM radio phone at Ericsson in ’99. Hard to get quality sound so small. Apple would never approve.

I think my main value-add at $WORK is to prevent us from doing stupid things. Sadly, I am not keeping up with that ever-growing workload.

If a normal day at the office is like a merry-go-round, then today is a square dance!

via Twitter for iPhone

Today was just another tap dancing, Python learning, festival going, uke playing, theater acting, pizza partying kind of day. Whew!

My best material is wasted.

We had to cut our visit to the Wide Open Bluegrass festival short today… our two thespians have another performance tonight!

Thanks to the folks at the @MartinGuitar tent at Raleigh’s Wide Open Bluegrass festival for hosting an open mic. My first uke song on stage!

D2 doesn’t want everyone to know it, but she’s learning a bit of Python.

@RunKeeper Now I see you can only edit manual activities. Would be nice to enter heart rate on GPS runs using iOS app.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to rockhopper

@RunKeeper Can I type heart rate into an activity on the iOS app? Web help says yes, but app just edits note. Using azumio HR app.

Three weeks ago, I burned my already-callused finger on a coffee pot. Just this week, the callus finally peeled off. Feels more normal now.

$COMPANY had a “virtual 10k run” this morning - 7am in your time zone, wherever you are. 10k at 7am? Virtual? I slept in instead.
