Cutting it close, D2 finally claims victory against her 43,920 word #NaNoWriMo goal, with 2 hours to spare.
Thankfully, “Safety mode has hidden comments for this video.”
So proud of my #NaNoWriMo young writers. D1 just passed her goal of 35,000 words. D2 is within sight of her goal.
My office is cold. Think I’ll compute some MD5 sums to heat up the Macbook (I miss my Dell - it always ran unnecessarily hot).
Our Obi202 VoIP box set its clock to 2015, neglected to re-register with VoIP provider, so we missed calls all day. #NTP
@nonrecursive See Gratitude & 15 other positive qualities in “Three Wishes for a Meaningful Life” iPhone app by me sentosa.us/apps/wishes/
@DragoArt Hi Dawn, Tried to reach you earlier about using one of your images in an iPhone app. Not sure how to contact you. OK or not? Thx
Elevator dream got tense when alarms went off, announcing the hot cocoa levels were dangerously low!
Crazy dream: huge elevator car, 2 stories inside, looked like something out of Kubric’s 2001, monitors everywhere, 2 full time attendants!
Whew! Party’s over! If the Harry Potter story had been real, Voldemort would’ve never gotten a word in edgewise between the kids yelling.
In my experience, printers… don’t.
Bummed that @ChickfilA dropped carrot & raisin salad from their menu. Wonder if it’s all stores or just our local franchise?
Transforming our home into a wizard school castle.
@pwbrewer @mkennedy2d Now I’ve got to see it!
Psst… don’t tell anybody this, but I have never seen an episode of Dr Who.
@pwbrewer That’s about right… 10 min for email, 75 min of Twitter, 5 min for coffee, now where was I?
@flyosity Music podcasts while working, talky podcasts while driving or mowing the grass.
@mikbre If your answer was “no”, then that was a rhetorical question. :-)
@jfmecca Already at 1 Credit Union, plus a few other banks. Don’t want to be stuck with my money in one place, too many things can go wrong.
Anyone else seeing OSX Mavericks locking up at the login screen after waking up from standby?
OK, it’s time for me to switch from Kickstarter lurker to contributor. kck.st/1a9Ue29 It’s 99% invisible with @romanmars
We wrote a check at a store, someone later robbed the store, now bank wants to change our acct # (and up-sell us at the same time).
“The waterfall method amounts to a pledge by all parties not to learn anything while doing the actual work” @cshirky http://t.co/FljJd1RDO1
@nivex I have “DID - Pay Per Minute” for $1.95/mo. With FCC/911, it comes to about $3.50/mo total.
Just spent 15 minutes reviewing my phone call handling rules. Verdict: Google Voice confusing & unreliable, @Callcentric clean & works well.
@nelstrom I bought it because a good friend described it as “life-changing”.
Friend recommended “Practical Vim” from @pragprog. Grabbed the ebook. Struggled with maybe print version too. But $9 shipping suggests not.
@nadir_tornow @climagic Root SSH/22 is OK, if done properly. Set “PermitRootLogin without-password”. Sounds scary, but it means “use a key”.
@Hay @ameir : @flightblog’s work must complement that of the Beer Loser.
Woo hoo! My updated app “Three Wishes for a Meaningful Life” is in the app store today! pic.twitter.com/6W54SvMXv1
@WCPSS @NCHomeBase If you need a process to report frequent outages, you’re doing it wrong.

Groundhog day at work. The downside of maintaining several parallel branches with poor fix propagation. Same bugs, different day.
Fear me! I am learning SCIENCE from YouTube!
(Preparing for my kids’ Harry Potter birthday party, which should be EPIC)
At least two colleagues using their personal laptops at work because it’s easier to check (corporate) email on them.
Forcing myself to learn mutt.
Spent most of the day preparing for our upcoming Harry Potter themed party.
Excited to submit v1.1 of my “Three Wishes for a Meaningful Life” iPhone app to the Apple App Store today. sentosa.us/apps/wishes/
When I got my MacBook in January, I put my old laptop files in a folder called MOVE. I finally emptied that folder tonight.
Power’s out… I can take a hint… heading home.
@coxn There’s a difference between HAVING local NTP and DOCUMENTING that we have local NTP. :-)
@pwbrewer 1-line PHP script on my own web server.
Better time sync = set my NTP source to my default router, which (apparently) is kept in sync.
Wondering why the clock on my work PC was drifting. NTP is blocked. Wrote a cron job to fetch time via HTTP and set clock. #hack
Got my new employee badge today - it does not open doors, has no hole to clip to, interferes with my lunch card, and my name is wrong. #fail
@StephenWagner7 Thanks for sharing! I ended up installing vox.
@StephenWagner7 Impressed that you got xmms working on mac. You should package it and share via osx app store!
Amazed that in 2013, our kids are still exchanging 10-digit phone numbers, not something with @ signs in them (like XMPP or AppleID, etc).
According to iOS7, 5:45pm falls somewhere between 6pm and 7pm. pic.twitter.com/CcKRXfQofM
@jordansissel We’re down to four months of “standard time”.
This Daylight Saving thing is cool… we should do it daily. Steal a daytime hour like 10-11am and restore it at night while I’m sleeping.
Window blinds on East-facing window making tiny pinhole cameras, projecting sun-shaped images of the berries from our tree. Epic Science!
I panicked when my MacBook went silent, no sound! Debugged for a while, tried reboot. Only THEN did I notice the volume knob on amp at zero.
It’s November, and both of my daughters are excited to be participating in NaNoWriMo, the National Novel Writing Month.
@mtdotnet Just like on Facebook, mobile app has a lot of new settings. Note if you use multiple accounts, there are even MORE settings.
Twitter is turning into Facebook. It’s sending me mobile notifications for crap that has nothing to do with me.
