A first for me : attended a “memorial run” tonight, honoring my friend and neighbor, Derek Davis.
@mattgemmell I’d just be worried that a watch had to boot at all.
Ukulele players: what’s the difference between Worth’s medium and hard strings? And can you really get 2 sets from 46 inches?
iPhone iOS 8.3 upgrade broke my free “Tipster” tip calculator app. So I fixed it. Available in the App Store today. sentosa.us/apps/tipster/
Something that’s hard to Google for: an open source package that you use to track licenses for your customers buying your product features.
3 satellites, 1 Lyrid meteor.
Teaching my kids to shop: (1) buy music (2) clone Windows VM (3) install Amazon Music Downloader spyware (4) download music (5) delete VM
Sure, the new “wget -qO- SOMELINK | sudo sh” method of installation is convenient… if you dare.
@wuhelp If it helps… previous incorrect location was in my old favorite locations list. Stuck maybe?
@wuhelp Old app worked correctly. New notification widget shows correct location. Reinstall corrected the problem. Thanks!
@wunderground New app gets my location wrong by 100 miles (iOS maps app is spot-on).
“To do” list says I need to water my new grass seed. Sky says I won’t need to.
My worlds collide. Speakers from @CarolinaCon now on #99pi? @shoebox discusses locks with @romanmars. And was that @deviantollam??
@pwbrewer iTunes is the root of these problems.
iPhone ‘Music’ app routinely loses my music, ‘Photos’ app routinely makes “phantom folders” that contain a random mixture of photos.
Anyone have suggestions for 3rd party iPhone apps to replace the built-in Music and Photos apps? Tired of them mis-managing simple media.
” ‘Tipster’ is submitted to the App Store for review”, he said, five hours after he started.
The Panther Creek High School theater took us Into the Woods and back.
Grass (and weeds) mowed, bare spots tilled, seeds spread and covered. Ready for some rain!
Attention to detail…

Wondering what “docker run -v /something” means… without the colon. Man page says “from Docker”. Huh?
I suppose the app-flamers won’t email… they’ll go straight to the App Store reviews with 1 star and turd emojis. sentosa.us/apps/tipster/
@jdriscoll Slider widget just disappeared from a XIB-based screen. <poof!>
iOS 8.3 upgrade broke a free app that I wrote in 2009. Emails coming in - civil, so far. Waiting for the first inevitable flamer.
Cool tool of the day: “ack” from @BeyondGrep : a super-fast grep tool that’s optimized for source code, skips over git/svn dirs, and more.
Discovered a really nice vim plugin called “tagbar”, shows a table of contents of my source code. Basic stuff, I know, but still helpful.
Tip of the day: “—itemize-changes” option on rsync tells why the file is being copied.
@emmarockin How about someone who nods and says “uh huh, I hear ya” while reading their phone? If you need that, I’ve got you covered.
Taxes and iTunes restore in the same day… two of my favorite things!
It’s a good thing I’m so obsessive over backups. #boom
Internet being what it is, I’ll probably get a lot of calls / tweets / emails from plumbers tomorrow morning.
@pwbrewer Cleaning was the only troubleshooting advice for the FlowMaster. The Korky appears to be closed, hard to get to.
@OldCrank I’ll play with the height on the Korky. I think the FM was a dud.
@OldCrank The FM shuts off if it’s lifted a little, but starts leaking if lifted all the way. I think it’s just poor quality control.
@OldCrank In both cases, it’s the shut-off that’s not really shutting off, not a leak at the seals. :-/
Toilet valve needed replacing. Put in a new FluidMaster. It leaked. Put in a new Korky. It’s leaking, too. How hard is this problem?
Our room at the Hyatt smells like the inside of an old shoe.
Alpharetta has more than their fair share of taco places and dentists (correlation does not imply causation).
Two firsts tonight: 1st time shopping at Fry’s & 1st dinner at a sushi restaurant (and the night is still young).
Ugh, ATL traffic… 3.5 miles between the hotel and the office, takes 1 hour to get there and back.
